Well, welcome! I’ll introduce myself: Alina Elena Calianu (imagine handshake). Pleased to meet you… virtually, at least. You’re probably here because you’re considering entrusting someone with your brand’s voice and identity. Makes sense… I’d want to know more too.
To start, I’m not Italian as my name might suggest; I was born in Romania, but that’s a story for another time. What you should know is that I’m a highly skilled copywriter, strategist, and speaker with a strong command of English communications and content strategy. Since 2017, I’ve been in the trenches of my profession, solving problems through words.
Copywriting is a field that keeps on giving – have you heard of ghostwriters and speechwriters? If you haven’t, you’re not the only one. I haven’t only heard of those subfields but have also tried them. I’ve explored the world of writing far and wide, balancing creative and business-oriented styles while continuously training and expanding my education both online and offline.
My journey has taken me across the globe, and this time not only virtually. My work has involved collaborations with a diverse range of clients – from multi-national corporations to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) – while building up my interpersonal skills along the way.
Not too long ago, I led a corporate communications team for a top branding agency in the Middle East, which took me away from my own clients for two (2) years. However, this experience allowed me to refine my skills in copywriting and communication strategy by working closely with multi-million-dollar enterprises. Now, I’m channeling those top-league ideas and methods into helping SMEs scale and tackle challenges like better market positioning, enhanced brand reputation, and new market entry or expansion.
My expertise isn’t limited to a particular region or industry. Plus, with former residencies in the EU, US, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain, I’ve learned much about the subtle nuances of localized translations and how public communications are heavily influenced by social norms and expectations. It also helps that I speak four (4) languages. All these experiences and the skillset that arose from them have helped me develop a keen eye for spotting new trends and effectively implementing content strategies regardless of the market – after all, some communication rules are universal.
Nowadays, I’ve been turning this multinational expertise into consulting, collaborating with businesses of all sizes. Whether working with B2B or B2C brands, I make it a point to bring perspective to each client and showcase how words truly are a necessary piece of the puzzle (or, perhaps, several pieces).
So, what brought you to my page? Let’s talk about that now. You can reach out to me here. I promise you’ll find a prompt, friendly, and helpful voice on the other end.
